Approaches to Composting

I have created a variety of composting systems on the property to eliminate organic waste from the household. With these mini-ecosystems, the only waste we will ever need to put in the green bin is meat bones.

Five types of compost tea: fish, meat, citrus, banana, and mixed. Each targets a specific type of plant.

Hot / cold compost pile, for either quick turn over or lazy composting.

Growing mushrooms in woodchips. This particular type of mushrooms welcomes fungal competition and can be grown in a variety of wood chips.
